Maruti Suzuki is on a roll since the launch of the Baleno back in October last year. The Baleno is also the first Maruti car to be built entirely in India making it a ‘Make in India’ product by the company. The Maruti Suzuki Baleno was built at the company’s Manesar plant.
Now there are reports saying the India made Maruti Suzuki Baleno will be making its presence felt among the chilly hills of Switzerland. The company has decided to showcase the car at the forthcoming Geneva Motor Show at Maruti Suzuki’s stall.
Moreover, the company also has plans to export the Baleno to countries like United Kingdom, France, Germany, Belgium, Netherlands and Spain in the coming months.
That’s not all! Maruti Suzuki Baleno is also the first car to ever be imported from India to Suzuki’s country in Japan.
Reports say, the Euro-spec Maruti Suzuki Baleno will come with a 1L, direct-injection turbocharged petrol engine and a 1.2L SHVS engine. Moreover, both the engines will come with both five-speed manual and five-speed automatic transmission.
Maruti Suzuki have plans to launch the Baleno in the UK sometime this year, most likely in June-July and will compete against the likes of Hyundai i20, Volkswagen Golf and Honda Jazz in the European markets.
